Idiots.... 5 days for a simple question? no live chat support (why the fuck do they have it on there site) phone support goes to voice mails and they dont get back to you..

Constant down time for days and they dont answer you...

Worst customer service/trust experience I've had to date. EXIST charged in advance for one year of hosting - OK. I told them in advance I was no longer using their services and they immediately suspended my account - OK. But then they disregarded my requests for refund. It's been almost two months now and they still have not refunded my money, nor do they answer my emails, phone calls, customer service requests, etc. Very poor ethics. Horrible (non-existent) customer service. Stay away from this one.

I was with ExistHost for 2 years. During my time with them, they were okay for a cheap, shared plan.

But before my 2nd year ended, they automatically charged me for another year, a full 30 days prior to when they were supposed to, without communication.

It took a little more than a week of daily emailing and calls to get my refund.

Several people I know have gone, or are going through, the same issue. If it weren't for the lack of customer care, I'd give them a better rating. But because of this, I would strongly suggest another host.

Positive:

- Good packages (space + traffic)

- Dual platform reseller packages (Windows + Linux)

- Very nice prices

- Very fast h-sphere control panel.

Negatives:

- Very unreliable hosting (things can brake and nobody give you the heads up, no scheduled maintenace alert, takes too long to resolve issues, etc.)

- NO answer on the phone for either support, billing or sales (it goes straight to voicemail and nobody return your calls or emails)

- Very bad support (no follow up, no auto-responder email confirmation, tickets could be open for weeks without nobody look into them, no notification to you when issues has been resolved, etc.)

- Staff seems to be clueless about basic troubleshooting and even close tickets with issues still unresolved.

- No emphaty at all for the customers whatsoever.

Example:

- A few months ago all my sites when down for about 3-4 days, with no access whatsoever, and I still wondering why. Lost several important customers.

- As we speak I've been having no FTP capabilities for about 3.5 weeks! Nobody has return may calls, emails, tickets... not even post anything on the community forum! I'm changing host right now.

I've been with Exist for just over 2 years now. It's got a few down sides but pretty good bang for the buck. Adequate webspace and bandwidth with seldom bottle necks. Customer support sucks to say the least. Don't expect your support ticket to be answered until you already found a way through trial and error two days later. And you're lucking if the "answer" you get is actually relevant and longer than 2 sentences. Their valueBYTE offer has been there unaltered since the time I signed up for it in 2004. The control panel they use (H-Sphere) is pretty out of date by today's standards, but they've got a long list of freebies for the newbie types. The affiliate program apperas to be a hoax. PHP/mySQL driven applications will slow down to a crawl during busy hours due to inadequate serverside RAM. Pretty good home for the low income guy, but go for a better host if you can afford the extra buck.
