I am Mosso user for 2 years now. Everything is o.k except two little details. Page speed for Wordpress, Joomla and Magento website are poor. First time to byte is 4 sec in average. Second thing is pricing, if you don't have so much need for hole package you can't scale down.

if you think about mosso/rackspacecloud sites think about very limitted shared hosting. I have two small sites on this hosting for about a year and it took me number of workarounds and changes just to make them work on Mosso. I was getting various errors that are specific to their implementation. The last drop is that I can't use google maps because even when I paid $20 per month for dedicated IP it is not dedicated. All outgoing requests use their shared IP and thus we hit google limitations (per IP address). After week of going back and force on this I finally got a straignt answer from suppport: There is nothing we can do.

I've been with Mosso for just over two years now. I will admit in the beginning it was pretty rough. There were constant outages, email downtime and slowness. But about a year ago I believe they have turned the company around and have made a lot of forward progress.

Mosso has allowed me to drop my dedicated worries and focus more on my customers. That alone is invaluable to me and my company. They may have some hiccups every now and then but every hosting company does. I recommend Mosso to any designer/developer who is looking for a flexible hosting solution that requires very little effort.

Not to mention it's backed by one of the largest hosting providers out there, Rackspace.

I'm currently with their Cloud Servers plan and everything seems great so far. The price, the uptime and server responsiveness are all recommended. Definitely one of the best in unmanaged hosting.

Their Cloud Sites is somewhat expensive for me right now, so no clue how good or bad is it. But the reviews I found on the Web seems mixed with positive and negative ones. However, there's merits that I can see from them that are not found elsewhere such as:

1. The support goodness backed by RackSpace

2. Linux and Windows hybrid hosting

But I'm planning to give it a trial for a month by the promo coupon code I have found at retailmenot.com: REF-YY. I may stay with them for a few months or so to see if it survives with all my sites that are now hosted at another hosting company. No clue at all what the hell 10k computing cycles can do until you try it.

Mosso failed me time and time again. This will be my third cancellation with them for horrible service, uptime, and knowledge of their own systems. Completely unorganized and un-Rackspace like. Don't let the name fool you.

Support was great: rarely do you find someone who actually knows what they're talking about on Live Help Chat systems.

Price is decent and love the way they have set it up for client billing, etc. Unique approach.

Bad bad security: created a database, and for giggles, I tried telnetting in from my home machine on the default port. Was shocked when I established a connection and realized they allow *any* host to connect to MySQL. Turns out that it's actually a "feature" so that you can use a tool of your choice instead of the web-based phpmyadmin interface. Umm, no thanks. I'd rather not let the world connect to my database server and merrily brute-force their way into my data.

Simple ... It is too sloooooowwwww and crashes most of the time.

I have been designing websites and developing web database applications professionally for over 10 years. MOSSO has been the worst hosting provider I have worked with.

The bottom line is that working with MOSSO has resulted in our clients being upset over the frequent server crashes and horrible page loading times. Outages are typically very short and only last a few minutes, but they occur several times per week and happen during the business day as well as at night. We have lost the confidence of knowing when we type the web address that the website will be shown. With MOSSO this simple process has become a guessing game.

I would not recommend MOSSO to any professional designer who cares about keeping their clients happy and protecting their clients interests. In my opinion, MOSSO is best suited for personal sites only that can afford a high-frequency of server crashes.

In my opinion, a single stand-alone server is more reliable then MOSSO's cloud that has demonstrated its failures time and time again. We plan on migrating the few sites we setup with MOSSO away from their "storm cloud".

On a positive note, MOSSO is extremely prompt to answer their online support chat regardless of the time of day. Their staff is also extremely friendly to work with. The downfall is that we were typically provided with incorrect answers and issues never seem to really get resolved. It's more "fluff" then "delivery", in our opinion. To make matters worse, we found when the MOSSO support reps had to open a ticket for another agent to investigate that those tickets simply vanished into thin air. When we wrote the senior management to alert them of the situation our letter went unacknowledged.

I loved this host. It was quick, reliable, and the control panel was a breeze. I did have to cancel it though. They don't allow a SSH, which was a deal breaker for me. If you don't need one though, I'd highly recommend it.

I've been with Mosso for about two years now. The support is good, however, the network is not very reliable. Many times I get complains from my sites webmasters that their pages are too slow! especially if website is pulling data from DB server.

The network is either working perfectly or your site doesn't even come up! It's not a good host for Ecommerce or any serious website, therefore I'm looking for another host.

Mosso states a high level of reliability, but there is always something breaking. I don't believe they truly know how to manage this type of setup.

The support is good, however... if a ticket is handed off, you will never hear from them again.
