I was with hostforweb for over six years. They are a great host and on the whole fairly reliable. My only complaints were that they migrated servers a few times and left scripts not working but these were soon fixed.

They will install extra perl modules on request and at no charge as long as its a well documented module that can be found in cpan.

I only left because I no longer resell hosting and I had a reseller account which they could not migrate for me. I figured if I was going to have to reupload everything I may as well switch and save a little money.

Although I am not currently using them I would recommend them for reliability and good support.

System down everyweek.. incompetent support staff.. Today my VPS is down for 15 hrs.. still not up..

And VPS goes down even on a weekly backup. I am told everytime they back up the server will go down.. ! ! Does that happen with other hosts...?

And strange people manning the support give random answers to tickets.. Once a rogue script that got into one of my sites.. i was adviced not to keep any files with permission 777., as if the cpanels are open for the whole world to walk in and do what they want..

contrary to what I'm seeing around.. my sites are up hadly 90% of the week.. and my blood pressure and acidity is going up.. !!

I use HostForWeb for many of my client web sites, and another well known hosting company for the rest of my sites.

If it wasn't too much hassle to change my other sites over to HostForWeb I would do so, as my other host has a long time email deliverability problem that they blame on anything other than their system!

Over the past two years I have enjoyed hassle free service, with only a couple of minor errors that were sorted out within minutes by support.

With full access to WHM and VZPP I am able to configure my system to work the way that I want it to without having to go back to the support staff everytime.

In my opinion they are way above average in just about everything that they offer, very pleased.
